As humans, the pursuit of change and progress is something that is innate to every one of us. Like it or not, there will always be things in life that we hope could be a little different, a little better in the way that daily situations & events turn out. It could be in the way we think, speak, or the way we handle everything from our finances to our relationships with others. We seek to become better -- and we should. As we strive to continuously exceed our potential, we rise above all previous versions of ourselves and grow stronger. In this issue, we look at some ways in which we can embrace a better self and an even better future.

The Relentless Pursuit of Improvement

It is no secret that I believe growth is the only guarantee that tomorrow will be better. It is no mystery that I think personal growth is the steppingstone to success for any leader. If you or I want to stay in front of the curve and lead others, then we must do the work that keeps us out front. We must continually improve. But as I seek to improve, there is one thing I know not to chase, and that is perfection. Perfection is a trap. Do not chase perfection as a leader - chase improvement. Make today better than yesterday so tomorrow can be better than today. The relentless pursuit of improvement will take any leader far.

Envy. It is an emotion that we all feel at some point. It is also a really dangerous emotion when we are trying to build a strong financial life. Envy is pure poison to a healthy financial life. After all, envy encourages us to make some pretty poor decisions. Like every other character flaw, however, envy can be overcome. You can directly reduce the envy itself, or you can at least reduce the bad choices you make as a result of envy. Here are seven strategies I use to cut envy out of my own life.

Siregar Walter Timbul, Operations Director

What i look for in an agent is someone who is in tune with the latest policies and someone who is genuine and can understand my needs. Someone who will go the distance with me and not change industry when it matters. James is that someone. He shows great empathy and because of that he is able to put himself in my shoes all the time; this helps drives the conversation to the point thus solutions are quickly surfaced and adjusted to meet my financial needs as well as coverage. It helps as well as he is approached and contactable all the time post sales, which I have heard from many friends that is a rare find these days.

James have been my school mate since Secondary school times... He have be taking care of all the policy that I have with him.. He is very professional and one thing amazed me is he is really good in his "House-Keeping" skill... I have throw his some question regards to my policy decades ago... He can easily answer all my doubts and show me all the documents.. Thumbs up my friend... Wish you all the best in this path...

Shirley Eng, Marketing Manager

I know James for a few years. Beneath the jovial and happy-go-lucky front, he is actually a very matured individual who cares deeply for his friends and their well-being. Amidst our day-to-day busy schedules, he finds time to be there and lend a listening ear in times of trouble and always support in ways he can. James has provided me good guidance on insurance and financial services information. He put himself in my shoes to provide honest, unbiased, and frank opinions. This has allowed me to make a well-informed decision on what is best for myself and my family. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who requires any insurance/financial planning.

I have known James from about two years but was finally formally introduced a few months back. I judged a book by its cover, he looked personable, humble and friendly. The day I got to know him, I knew I was apprehensive when I found out he was an insurance agent. But we met a couple of times and he just taught us about insurance. Nvr pushed. I had my own insurance agent which I have followed for years. But, I do have to admit, the way James explained the policies, I understand the explanation better than my own insurance agent!!! I willingly signed up an investment policy with him recently, still without him asking me. And I have not yet regretted. Its obvious that James is not a hi-and-bye agent or friend. He is here for the long run. And I am glad that I can now call him my agent.
